Capital Market Driven Economic Development is a three credit hour college semester length course. The Course is designed to teach the inside strategies and techniques used to fund, and operate the capitalization of major projects in community economic development and in the building of local economies. The course will afford students the opportunity to understand the Liquid Capital Markets of the world, the source and structure of capital funding, and the functioning of major corporations and their behavior. Students will understand the role and functions of funding entities such as hedge funds, private equity firms, venture capital firms, and other sources of major capitalization.

Capital Market Driven Economic Development is a three credit hour college semester length course. The Course is designed to teach the inside strategies and techniques used to fund, and operate the capitalization of major projects in community economic development and in the building of local economies. The course will afford students the opportunity to understand the Liquid Capital Markets of the world, the source and structure of capital funding, and the functioning of major corporations and their behavior. Students will understand the role and functions of funding entities such as hedge funds, private equity firms, venture capital firms, and other sources of major capitalization.

In the modern new global economy, capital market access and capitalization mechanisms are essential for effective and competitive economic development and successfull business operations.

As an integral and important part of the course the student will learn important investment and trading strategies and techniques within the Capital Markets. These investment and trading strategies will provide the student with the tools needed to function as a professional investor and trader within the Capital Markets.

The operations of publicly traded companies will be covered in depth, and students will learn the essentials of how major capital funded corporations move industrial and technological advancements in the modern global economy.

Understanding the role of Intellectual Properties as the engine of modern global business and capital market driven economies is an important aspect of the Course. 

Any student interested in major economic development whether it relates to successful community economic development, the building of major business enterprises, or the economies of developing countries, and the funding and investment needed for these efforts, will find this Course indispensable.
